I’m writing this having spent the last few weeks with a broken camera and a very miserably cloudy sky. So, this post is bit of a retrospective cheer-me-up: a summary (summer-y?) of some of the better Salticid finds from around here last year.
Evarcha
I’ve found a couple of these in the forest here, I think the species is Evarcha arcuata.
Heliophanus (Sun Jumping Spiders)
I’ve found quite a few of these little guys all around Tübingen and the surrounding forest.
Salticus
The most common jumping spider here, but a beauty. We’ve found them in the house, in gardens, and even in the lab at work, and of course in the forest.
Bonus frenchies:
I did a few trips for work and holidays to France, and of course took the camera. Here’s a few bonus species from the Toulouse region.
Menemerus taeniatus: probably my favourite species so far, these are a bit bigger and have particularly colourful eyes.
And something I’ve not confirmed the ID of, but I think is Icius.
